Bucks Art Weeks 2022

I genuinely feel pretty overwhelmed by how positive an experience I had taking part in Bucks Art Weeks 2022

Here is how it went and my reflections:

Firstly I have to say a huge thank you to my family for supporting me to make the fortnight happen. When you’ve got 2 young kids, doing something like this is not straight forward but I’ve had the best support.

To give context, this is the first proper art event I’ve taken part in and the first time (other than at events in my lovely small village) I’ve had my art work in front of anyone in about a year and a half. What I took part in was Bucks Art Weeks which is a county wide event where hundreds of artists and makers open their own studios or open spaces as a group to showcase their goods. I opened my own home studio up to the public for 8 days over two weeks. I did this on my own which was definitely a little nerve wracking.

So how did it go?

1) I had approximately 70-80 people through the door. Considering I was in a venue on my own, and basically noone knew I was here before this event, I am so happy with the turnout.

2) I sold 16 paintings and a load of greetings cards. Some of the sold paintings are in the pictures in this post. This is mental.

3) I have already had a few follow up conversations about commissions!

3) I made so many new connections with local artists, local galleries and lovely new customers who I hope will come back for more

4) The organisation around Bucks Art Weeks has been so impressive! All the signage, booklets, posters etc are super professional. It is an event I feel very proud to have been part of and would encourage anyone who is thinking about taking part to go for it.  Thanks Bucks Art Weeks!!

Finally, I just want to say a HUGE ‘thank you’ to everyone who came to see me and everyone who purchased something from me. Having not put myself in a real life event for a long time, this has given me a huge confidence boost

The best bit now is that I get to go and do some more paintings!!
